    Following his post on 25th February (above), Optimax made this insulting offer to Sam.

     

    Note that this includes a ‘gagging order’, which is how Optimax and the rest of the refractive eye surgery industry manage to hide the extent of the irreparable problems people suffer.

     

    UPDATE 18 March:

    Sam has now accepted the insulting settlement offer from Optimax, and whilst he can’t post we can!

    Thank you for taking the time to leave your review – it is appreciated. It’s not surprising Optimax deleted your Facebook review from their site, they are only interested in positive reviews.

    Although you mention you are already trying to get a refund from Optimax and awaiting a reply from them, I would also recommend you contact Sasha Rodoy who is Patient Advocate at My Beautiful Eyes Foundation.

    It’s also worth reading other reviews on this forum as well as the several dedicated Facebook, instagram and Twitter pages which are trying to highlight the pitfalls of this corrupt and unregulated industry.

    How coincidental…  A post from Sasha Rodoy almost 3 years ago mentioning Optimax Ruined My Life and ‘Optimax Reviews. A stark reminder that very little (if anything) has changed in the past 3 years – this corrupt industry continues to take advantage of peoples dreams of becoming ‘glasses-free’ knowing full well it is more than likely that their vision will be irreparably damaged – But they won’t tell you the truth! Optimax and Ultralase should be ashamed; they’re no better than dodgy car salesmen and rogue traders!

    Hi Carol. We are aware of the advert to which you refer and can say with certainty that Optimax failed to disclose that the model was in fact paid for this. This has subsequently been reported to the Advertising Standards Authority.

    We would like to add that you have made a very wise decision to stick with contacts and glasses.

    10th Anniversary commiserations to Sasha Rodoy

    Sasha Roday. Patient Advocate for My Beautiful Eyes Foundation and campaigner calling for UK Government regulation of the Refractive Eye Surgery industry, marks her 10th Anniversary today after her devastating and life changing experiences at Optimax. Unfortunately an anniversary not to be celebrated and we very much doubt there will be flowers, party poppers and cake.

    The surgeon should be seeing you at this point not an optometrist and you should probably complain to the GMC.
