This forum provides a platform for patients to share their experiences of unsatisfactory and debilitating outcomes following refractive surgery with Optimax.

Damaged patients are invited to share their experiences openly, without censorship, detailing the very real risks of unregulated surgery that do not appear in promotional materials.

The site is intended to help prospective patients better understand the risks and complications associated with refractive surgery, and to appreciate the real-life impact that adverse outcomes can have on patients’ lives.

I had Lasik at Optimax in 2006 performed by Manek Patel. I was left with dry eyes, halos/starbursts, floaters in both eyes, poor night vision and since then my myopia has regressed. I have tried to convince Optimax and Russell Ambrose over the years that my floaters were directly caused by Lasik but of course they deny this. All in all i regretted my decision and fell for their sales pitch and was given little time to study the risks and sign the disclaimer. I'm not sure if Manek Patel is still employed in the industry and still butchering eyes but i hope not.
