This forum provides a platform for patients to share their experiences of unsatisfactory and debilitating outcomes following refractive surgery with Optimax.

Damaged patients are invited to share their experiences openly, without censorship, detailing the very real risks of unregulated surgery that do not appear in promotional materials.

The site is intended to help prospective patients better understand the risks and complications associated with refractive surgery, and to appreciate the real-life impact that adverse outcomes can have on patients’ lives.

For several months, Sasha Rodoy (patient advocate and campaigner of 'My Beautiful Eyes Foundation') has been receiving concerned emails and posts from people (victims) who have been fitted with problematic ICL's  at Optimax clinics - some dating back almost 20 years. We have been keeping an eye (no pun intended) on the development of this and can now disclose that The Daily Mail newspaper has investigated the story and subsequently published an article to alert the public of the huge risks and dangers associated with this. (something which Russell Ambrose, owner of Optimax, has failed to do despite it being a potentially life-changing issue for those affected).

The full article can be found here (Daily Mail online website) and can also be found on our social media pages.

Attached is a snippet of the full article.

A huge thanks to Sasha Rodoy for pursuing this story and for the many people who contacted Sasha to inform her of the issues. In addition, thanks the hard work from the journalist, Marcello Mega, who invested his time to get this story into the press.

If you are one of the many who have been fitted with ICL's by Optimax please read the article and take the necessary steps to ensure your eyes are healthy.
